Maybe it is time to learn VPS

Posted by Administrator on Nov 16, 2005

I have recently had some indepth discussions with a couple of Creo analysts who have intrigued me on the potential of VPS as an alternative to PPML and possibly someday as an alternative to VIPP.

Over the next couple months I hope to learn VPS well enough to hand code production work. We’ll see if it is all it is cracked up to be.

Today I took a look at HP’s newest digital press, the Indigo 5000. Wow, it has sure improved over the years.

The Indigo has always offered impressive quality. That has not changed. Now, the rip, paper feeders, speed, print process are all improved.

Tune in to tonights’ episode (number 9) of Today In Print for a recap of today’s visit.

Variable Data Intelligent PostScript Printware (VIPP)

Geeeez! I have always marveled at the variable print / document generation capabilities of VIPP. But today, I just can’t catch a break. Nothing I am trying to accomplish today is working out. Everything I am trying to do is the opposite of how VIPP was designed to work.

Oh well. For anyone using VIPP, VIPP Forums looks like it has the potential to become a nice resource place once people begin finding it and participating.
