Anyone else having problems with the new Gmail?

Well, ever since I have been using the “newer Gmail” I am greeted by this screen:
Though it is not that big of a deal and I am always able to get into the site immediately after refreshing, it sure is annoying.
Gmail new version

Well, I guess I am on the new version of gmail. Is this another beta? The previous version wasn’t ever out of beta.
Overall most things look the same. There seem to be a couple new options when a message is selected. You can now filter for messages like the one you are viewing / have selected. You can also mute a conversation. It is not all that clear how to un-mute a conversation. That can be done by moving the message back to the inbox after finding it in all mail.
To be honest, I have not found all that much in the “newer version” that is all that different or impressive. I was expecting a new skin with more ajax like functionality and it just doesn’t seem to be there.
Oh well, I still like my gmail.

Google screws another site over!

It is definately time for a stronger response to these bully tactics being used by google. Unfortunately, the only way to do that is for a large enough site to be dropped for fradulant click throughs. A site the size of digg or sourceforge. I am not advocating any fraudulant clicking on google ads on either of these sites; merely speculating as to what would be necessary for Google to be held responsible.
Google needs a mechanism for contesting account cancellations. Google also needs a better way of identifying click fraud.
I am definately interested in hearing about other experiences with the google fraud cancellations. I would be very interested in hearing about anyone who has been able to sucessfully resolve a similar mis-understanding with google.
Google Maps Now in High Res

Google Maps is now providing high reselution images. Maps are getting so amazing. The imagery seems current in many if not all major metro areas. In Minneapolis, building are easily identifiable. The site performance does not seem to have been effected. I don’t know how google manages to keep doing things like this, but I am definately a fan.
Men Are From Google Women Are From Yahoo

This is a very interesting study: Men Are From Google Women Are From Yahoo
I was suprised to see how close the internet usage percentages were between men and women. The email usage being higher for women than men was a little bit of a surprise. The women using the internet as a nurturing community and men as an office is not a surprise. It would have been nice if the study would have included more information about the sample size and the research method.
