After our first visit to Southview Country Club it became very clear from our meeting with Mark that we really needed to consider joining. Mark and staff were very helpful in providing information about the club and in getting us very excited about joining. The only thing left to determine is if we would enjoy it while it was open. Mark was generous enough to invite us out for Friday night's happy hour and for dinner which we took him up on this past Friday. On our way there we were not sure what to expect, what type of people we would encounter and if we would enjoy ourselves.
Upon arriving Mark took a second to give us the lay of the land and quickly introduced us to a couple members that were out for the evening. Steve and Jim were very friendly and before I knew it we were at a table with them and their wives Coleen and Kandi (my apoligies for any errors on names or spelling of names). All four were a lot of fun to talk with and we were having a good time. A short while later we were also introduced to Nick and Lindsey who were newer members (joined last year) and were able to share a lot about the club as a newer and younger member. All in all, happy hour was a great success and a great time.
We countinued on with our evening and ate dinner upstairs in the bar. Both Chaley and I prefer bars for dining so we felt very comfortable. The staff was great (I have forgotten our server's name); however, I must point out that she was very friendly and helpful and put a great face forward for the club. Our dinners were both very good, so good in fact that dessert was not an option! After enjoying a nice evening we left full, tired and pleased.
In the end I think Friday night went a long way towards making our decision. I would like to thank everyone we met for making it such a pleasant and inviting evening. We both had a good time and really appreciate everyone's hospitality. It was definately the type of atmospher that we were seeking.
